If you like that mid-90's style alternative sound, then Fig Dish will not disappoint with Love Songs. I can't actually tell when the song "Chew Toy" appears in Empire Records; it's one of those songs that I would have to particularly look for when I watched the movie. Still, the album has the Empire sound, and I think Empire fans will enjoy it.
The album doesn't have any standout tracks per se, except for possibly the song "Lemonader;" if there were going to be a single from this album, that would be it. Still, the sound is cohesive, the lyrics don't suck, and its listenability is high. Put on this CD when you need some good 90's background music or when you're driving. For the few bucks it would cost you, plus the coolness factor in having something that's now somewhat obscure (not to mention with cool cover art and titles like "Resistance is Futile" and "Quiet Storm King"), it's worth picking up.
